2021-2023 academic year lease Occupancy during the academic year. Summer live allowed with approval. Double Rate: $2675 per semester Meal Plan: $1650 High-speed internet and all utilities included—furnished double and single rooms, with onsite laundry. Rooms have built-in closets, dressers, mattresses with beds. Alumni and the chapter manage room selection. Singles are not guaranteed, and availability is limited—NO PETS policy. TERM OF LEASE: August 2021 – May 2023. The Second Year is automatically let out when occupancy is met based on seniority. Second Year live-ins will have the first choice on room assignments. Rooms will be available from August 20, 2021, through noon May 8, 2022, & August 19, 2022, through noon May 7th, 2023 *summer live-in is allowed on a case by case basis. RATE: Single Occupancy: The base rental rate for a Single Occupancy room is $3675 per Semester before discount or $3,375 with on-time payments. RATE: Double Occupancy The base rental rate for a double occupancy room is $2975 per Semester before discount or $2,675 with on-time payments. DISCOUNTS: $300 discount off each semester's rent if paid in full on August 1 and January 1. $200 discount off each semester's rent is paid in two payments on August 1 and September 1 ****Late Fees - Late fees of 10% are charged against the unpaid balance after the 10th of the month for the installment due date for which it is due. Payments are credited first to late fees, then to fines/charges, meal plans, and lastly to outstanding rents. *****Payment Processing Fees - The Barrister Property Management payment portal provides for free processing of an eCheck. Payments may also be made via the portal, where convenience fees are charged to cover the cost of handling credit or debit cards. Physical checks mailed to Barrister will be assessed a $10 handling fee. Special processing for American Express credit cards may be done for a 5% special processing fee. MEAL PLAN – PAYMENTS All tenants are required to participate in the meal plan. The meal plan is $1,650 additional per semester. Payments due: August 1 and January 1 o Meal plan consists of 15 meals served in a typical week. o Meal plan will consist of a Sunday evening meal thru a Friday noon meal during a normal week. o Meals will be served on Sunday evenings when the following Monday has classes scheduled to be held. o Meals will not be served on days/dates when Iowa State University is not in session, during breaks or holidays, or on days/dates when classes have been canceled. o With the guidance of the alumni or house director advisor, tenants are allowed to prepare meals on the weekends during normal hours of 8 am – 8 pm. It is understood that BPM will send a new Housing Contract each year, and the Tenant shall return a signed Housing Contract each year as a resident. PARKING PLAN – There are a limited number of parking spots. Therefore, those who want to park at the house will pay $200 for the year. Assignment of spots will be determined by seniority and enforced via parking tags.
